Those who follow the scene of furry visual novels should already know that itch.io is “deindexing” games, and you may find their official reason in the article. 

Unfortunately, Sanctuary is still currently unlisted, but the project page seems to remain intact. We believe that our game is not particularly offensive or taboo to warrant deletion, but on the off chance that things go downhill, you should consider following our socials and joining our Discord server for the latest info.

We also naturally have the previous builds of the game, and we can throw them into Google Drive if itch.io does remove our page, so you do not have to download everything in panic.

One thing is for sure, however, is that itch.io provides our game traffic. While the audit of content from itch.io lasts, the amount of attention we get is unpredictable. It would be unwise to risk hours of work from multiple people to an unasked-for interruption from the platform... in fact, that would just be really stupid and unfair to every member of the team. It is honestly ridiculous that such an event occurs right before our desired update date, and we hope for your understanding that we wish to postpone the update for a week or two until this turmoil is over.

Finally, as the writer, I really don't want to change the scope of the content of the game due to censorship. It all depends on the size of the backlash of this whole situation, and then the actual "compliance measures" itch.io will enforce on every NSFW game. If I must alter existing content, or if the platform requires us to not include a certain topic in the future, I will try to be transparent and point it out with devlogs. It is still rather mysterious as of now, so expect a follow-up devlog to come.
